A revisited and revived piece in a larger and more intricate format. The memory of it was sparked by a piece of music new to me, but ultimately found a host in Neurosis - The eye of every storm.
This is a unique blood fluke but it is also the most prevalent parasite in humans. Unlike other flukes in which sexes are not separate, schistosomes are unique in that adults are divided into males and females. However, a permanent male-female pair, a condition called in copula, is required to become adults, they are considered as hermaphrodites.
The two are sitting curled inside an equilateral gold triangle. The male part is much less embellished and definitely doesn't have any eyes but I'm thinking at least one of the two needs to “see”. The female part of this paramountly codependent permanent male-female pair is different in colour and for me dotted in gold. Strange, an outlier, beautiful and extremely adept and equipped for survival and propagation. I would think they enjoy some post-metal.
